Police continue to search nearby Koh Tao for a missing Russian woman. Ms Novozhyonova has not been seen since Feb 15, the day before she was scheduled to check out of her hotel room. Relatives told police that Ms Novozhyonova had taken diving lessons in Russia for four years but only in swimming pools. Ms Novozhyonova and her mother lived separately and the latter only learned about the disappearance from her daughter's friend in Russia. Nine divers joined the search party scouring the seabed stretching a kilometre from Chalok Bankao Bay to the View Point Resort cape.
